Logic-based number placement puzzle.

About Sudoku

Sudoku is a logic puzzle where you fill a 9×9 grid so each row, column, and 3×3 box contains the numbers 1–9 exactly once. It’s calm and focused, but also surprisingly challenging as difficulty increases. Our Sudoku has four difficulty levels — from Easy to Expert — so both beginners and advanced players can enjoy it. To keep it fair and skill-based, there are no hints, and you can make up to three mistakes before the game ends.

How to Play

  • Goal: Complete the grid so that:
    • Every row contains numbers 1–9 with no repeats
    • Every column contains numbers 1–9 with no repeats
    • Every 3×3 box contains numbers 1–9 with no repeats
  • Start: Some numbers are already filled in — these are fixed and can’t be changed.
  • Play: Click/tap an empty cell and enter a number (1–9) that fits the rules.
  • Mistakes: You can make up to 3 mistakes. After the third mistake, the game is over.
  • Difficulty: Choose between 4 levels (Easy → Expert). Higher levels have fewer given numbers and require more advanced logic.
  • Win: You win when all cells are filled correctly and the grid follows all Sudoku rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right difficulty level for me?

Start with Easy if you’re new, move to Medium/Hard once you can solve without guessing, and try Expert if you enjoy complex logic and fewer given numbers.

What’s the most common cause of mistakes?

Rushing and not checking the row + column + 3×3 box together before placing a number. One quick scan across all three areas prevents most errors.

Are there any hints or prompts?

No. This Sudoku has no hints or prompts, so solving is fully based on your own logic.

What counts as a mistake, and what happens after 3 mistakes?

A mistake is entering a number that breaks Sudoku rules. You can make up to three mistakes — after the third, the game ends.

What’s a good approach if I get stuck?

Slow down and scan for “sure moves”: look for rows/columns/boxes where only one number can logically fit in an empty cell. Checking one area at a time helps you avoid unnecessary mistakes.
